random nature notes out my window

Some small bird--I think it's a nuthatch, but I'm not the best at avian identification--is flitting around my office window. It has a tasty seed in its sturdy little beak and should be content, but it seems to think there's something in or around the window frame that it really wants.

It's off again, but the little guy added a lively touch to my morning.

On another note, the three big oak trees in my back yard are an extraordinary shade of orange.
